In 1985, amidst political turmoil and economic uncertainty, a determined and ambitious young Bulakeño took a leap of faith that was to be pivotal in the course of Philippine maritime industry for years to follow.

Equipped with his experience as a petroleum sales executive and driven by his unwavering vision, Herminio S. Esguerra transformed his humble petroleum hauling enterprise with ten employees and a single rented barge into a formidable billion-peso conglomerate with eight flagship corporations and a workforce of thousands.
